Is Huntersville, NC a nice place to live?

Huntersville, NC is one of the nicest places to live in the greater Charlotte, NC area. I may be partial since I have called this area my home for the last 20+ years, but with over 65,000 residents and counting, I bet I could find most feel the same way.

One of the first things that drew me to Huntersville was of course Lake Norman. As one of the most popular lake destinations in the Carolina’s, you can enjoy and relax on the over 520 miles of coastline. With watersports being front and center of lake enjoyment, you can kayak, paddleboard or canoe, or for those looking for more excitement can enjoy many of the motorized sports such as boating, wake boarding, jet skiing, and even flyboard if you dare. If you land somewhere in the middle, you can join the Lake Norman Community Sailing where you can learn to sail or partake in many other community events. If you feel more comfortable as an angler, you can expect to catch anything from Largemouth Bass. Perch, Trout and Black Crappies just to name a few.

Outdoor Activities

If you like being outdoors, but don’t necessarily enjoy the water, then spend the day at one of the many public parks in Huntersville. With the Carolina Raptor Center, Latta Plantation Nature Center, John M. Holbrook Memorial Park, North Mecklenburg Park and more, you will have endless trails to choose from in addition to playgrounds. Bike trails connect in and out of local neighborhoods so you can see more of Huntersville by bike than you would ever expect.

If water and outdoor activities aren’t for you, then take a day to enjoy the Birkdale shopping area. This outdoor shopping center features some of the areas finest shopping and dining, and outdoor pavilion and of course a play area to the little ones. Want to catch one of the latest films? Well don’t worry, as Birkdale has their own movie theater for you to enjoy all the latest Hollywood blockbusters. Other great things to do in Huntersville include Discovery Zone Kids, The Renaissance Festival, and several amazing local breweries that are always family friendly.

Community

The list of what makes Huntersville a nice place to live is endless, but most important to me is the deep sense of community you feel in the area. The friendliness of strangers and ability to find a fellow transplant from your hometown is abundant since the large percentage of residents have moved to Huntersville for all the reasons above.
